Salaries in School Psychology

According to the most recent membership survey conducted by members of the NASP Research Committee, the mean salary of school psychologists in the U.S. in the 2004-05 school year was $60,581 (Curtis et al., 2006). For practitioners with 200-day contracts the mean was $62,513, and for university faculty it was $65,398 (Curtis et al., 2007).

Regional differences in salaries, per diem rates, and more can be seen in these slides adapted from the NASP 2007 Convention presentation by Curtis et al. Although mean salaries by region are presented, it is important to keep in mind the possibility that there is significant variability in salaries by state, school district, and so on. And it is important to note that these figures are for NASP members only. It is unknown how the means for the entire profession may differ.
